Curtain raising for 3rd Indian Rice Congress was held on 10.09.2024 at ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack in a meeting chaired by Dr. Amaresh Kumar Nayak, Director, NRRI. The topic of the 3rd Indian Rice Congress is “5G Enabled Rice based Agri-Food Systems for Nutrition and Livelihood” to be held in December 5-7 2024. Association of Rice Research Workers (ARRW) in collaboration with Indian Council of Agricultural Research; National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi; Indian Institute of Rice Research & Society of Advancement of Rice Research Hyderabad; Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology Bhubaneswar, at NRRI. Dr. Nayak gave emphasis on successfully conducting the congress by inviting good scientist as speakers. Dr. P.K. Agrawal former Vice Chancellor, OUAT & President ARRW remarked that the concept of “5G enabled rice-based agri-food systems for nutrition and livelihood” is a new and forward-thinking approach that integrates advanced technology with agriculture to improve productivity, enhance nutritional outcomes, and boost the livelihoods of farmers. Dr. Annie Poonam, Organizing Secretary welcomed the guest and briefed about the motive of congress, is to provide a robust global platform for the entire stakeholder i.e., researchers, industries, policy makers, extension workers, students and farmers to discuss the national and international developments in rice science.
